Whole Body Conditions
What is “systemic” inflammation?
Systemic inflammation is a chronic “silent” inflammation, which in the long term plays a major role in a variety of diseases. It is thought to be the “silent killer” of our time.
A variety of lifestyle and dietary factors triggers this inflammation including obesity, stress and sleep deprivation; as well as diets high in sugar and starch, trans fatty acids, vegetable oils and even overcooked food.
Research shows that this chronic inflammation plays a major role in a variety of whole body conditions and diseases including cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, obesity, periodontal disease, allergies, asthma, **depression (in conjunction with anti-depressants) and osteoporosis to name just a few. And, because acupuncture therapy is a holistic medicine, which treats the whole body, it should be one of your first considerations when fighting the silent killer within.
